This was my first "proper job" i,e, one where you had to wear shoes to go to work. One of the first challenges was to create a brand strategy that would unite the sister companies of Sunworld Sailing and Neilson Ski. Working with the team we realised that the biggest challenge, and the greatest opportunity, was going to be to create an umbrella lifestyle brand, that could contain a broad range of holiday offerings, ranging from the very chilled, to the adrenaline fuelled.
I remember the first time we saw the big orange N - with skiers, sailors, sunbathers all realising that it applied equally to them.
We then (working with the creative agency Pravda) developed the "Relax as hard as you like" campaign. We were so proud that it won a clutch of industry awards - but the fact that it is still there - over twenty years later, suggests we got it right.
