Learning Away
A consortium of industry leaders
We can all remember our first night away from home, without Mum and Dad. It was most likely a school trip where one of those brilliant dedicated teachers gave up their time to enrich the lives of their cohort.
I was lucky enough to be first of all a member of this consortium of residential providers that included The Girl Guides, The Scouts, The Outdoor Industry Association amongst others. I then was asked to chair the consortium - which will teach me to miss a meeting!
We ran a very effective campaign to promote the educational enrichment provided to everyone who enjoys learning outside the classroom, whilst highlighting the disparity of provision and opportunity accross the country.
